Matt started with the firm in 2007 as an articled clerk, and stayed on after being called to the NS Bar in 2008.
A native of Yarmouth, Matt understands many of the challenges facing people in Southwest Nova Scotia. He strives to apply his knowledge of local industry, trade and government in arriving at legal solutions that are tailored to meet the objectives of each individual client.
Matt maintains a diversified practice, and has experience at all levels within the court system of Nova Scotia.
Matt is currently president of the Western Counties Barristers’ Society, a member of the Canadian Bar Association and is Board Chair of the Yarmouth YMCA.
After being called to bar in June 2013, Jocelin joined Hood & Fraser as an associate practicing in the areas of Fisheries Law, Marine Law, Corporate Law , Commercial law, Civil Litigation, Family Law, and Wills and Estates.
Jocelin received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Saint Mary’s University in 2009 and obtained his Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in 2012. While at Dalhousie, he obtained a Marine Law specialization certificate from the Marine & Environmental Law Institute. Jocelin grew up working in the fishing industry.
He has taken part in many facets of the industry including fish processing, lobster, and crab fishing.
